Prof. Shabnam Agarwal

Profile

Prof. Shabnam Agarwal is a dedicated clinician, innovative educator and serious researcher.

She is a specialist Musculo-skeletal physiotherapist, practicing in Belle Vue Clinic, Kolkata, as the Chief Physiotherapist, since the past 25 years. Although a dedicated clinician, her passion for professional advancement and developing well trained graduate physiotherapists in eastern India led her into Academics, which saw her as Director Education of Nopany Institute of Healthcare Studies (NIHS), the first private physiotherapy college in Kolkata in 2004. As NIHS gradually became a centre of excellence, Dr Agarwal was entrusted with the responsibility of Nopany Institute of Management Studies. She is currently the secretary of the Nopany Foundation trust which runs the two institutions.

She has the distinction of being the honorary consultant Physiotherapist to His Excellency, Governor of West Bengal.

With a Masters from University of Wales, College of Medicine, Cardiff, UK and a PhD from Curtin University, Western Australia, Dr Agarwal combines this extensive academic exposure with her vast experience in both academics and clinicals.

  • Traffic Police Camp - 6th and 7th March 2020 - A detailed Musculoskeletal examination of the painful joints was conducted by a team of professionals headed by Dr.Shabnam Agarwal, PhD (Director & Trustee of Nopany Group of Institutions) along with all Associate and Assistant Professors from the physiotherapy faculty of Nopany Institute of Healthcare Studies. All 303 police personnel were assessed, advised, and counselled.
